Consultants/Senior Consultants
Requirement

Successful applicants will join existing consulting teams working with clients throughout the UK and internationally. You must be able to demonstrate excellence in researching, analysing and solving complex analytical problems, working closely and productively with a range of client staff from different business functions, leading and persuading others, and implementing effective solutions.

The Role
The role will be based at client sites in the UK and internationally with occasional visits to our office in London. The job may require a significant amount of business travel. The Consultant/Senior Consultant plays a central role in the team, and is accountable for successfully delivering significant elements of major projects. The role involves the proactive identification and delivery of opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvement across projects. These may be in terms of direct or indirect cost savings, through improved supplier service delivery, to developing and implementing improved processes and approaches as part of new best-practice procurement/cost reduction solutions.
Consultants may sometimes work on their own and at other times will be required to manage teams of Analysts. Senior Consultants will typically be required to manage teams of Analysts and Consultants.
The Individual
Successful candidates will have consistently demonstrated excellence in their careers to date. They will possess outstanding team management and stakeholder management skills. In particular, they will be able to demonstrate the ability to articulate complex, innovative ideas in a persuasive manner to both internal colleagues and external clients. They will also possess excellent analytical skills, and have the capacity to manage their work and the work of others to achieve successful delivery of consulting work to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing / coordinating delivery of one or more projects to deliver client benefits within tightly defined deadlines
- Structuring and presenting strategy workshops, client reports and relevant project documentation
- Developing and implementing improved processes in client organisations
- Meeting with clients and stakeholders to build project requirements, in some cases leading to identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Managing key client relationships to ensure effective project delivery
- Working with other key third party organisations, including suppliers, typically participating in, or leading, supplier negotiations
- Supporting other 4C teams in sharing best practise and technical / market knowledge.
Senior Consultants will typically be responsible for more staff and have wider managerial responsibilities than at the Consultant grade.

- Capacity to manage difficult and challenging situations and resolve debates and disputes
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in one of the following areas:
Either
- Previous consulting experience in a top-tier consulting firm,
or
- Management experience in a blue chip organisation encompassing a leadership role in either procurement, performance improvement and/or cost reduction with significant evidence of leading a major change project and delivering exceptional results
Candidates must have a minimum of a 2.1 degree from a top UK or international University. Preference will be given to candidates with additional professional qualifications (e.g. MBA, ACCA, MCIPS)
Whilst typically based in the UK, the role will require significant business travel and candidates may be required to work internationally in order to support the needs of our multinational clients.
