The Role
The Senior Manager takes overall responsibility for managing the P&L and the delivery of multiple challenging projects, often simultaneously, and where applicable expanding the remit of those projects to the mutual benefit of 4C and our clients.
The role will involve the proactive identification of opportunities for cost reduction and performance improvements across projects, along with new business development activities. These may be in terms of direct or indirect cost savings, through improved supplier service delivery, to developing and implementing improved processes and approaches as part of new best-practice procurement solutions.
The Senior Manager will generally manage significant teams of consultant and / or client staff in the delivery of this work, and will be the primary point of contact with the client for the project.
He/she will be responsible for developing industry-leading thinking as a result of their project work and research activities, and contributing to the marketing and selling of this intellectual capital to our potential client base.
The individual will also join the management team of the company and will be involved in discussions and decisions around the overall strategy, as well as play an important role in employee and internal initiative development.
Key objectives include: Client Satisfaction, Project Contribution, Cash Flow and Revenue Generated.
The Individual
Successful candidates will have consistently demonstrated excellence in their careers to date. They will possess outstanding team-working and client-facing skills, in particular the ability to articulate results and complex, innovative ideas in a concise manner to both internal colleagues and external clients. They will also possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to assimilate large amounts of data, and have the capacity to manage the delivery of outstanding consulting work to tight deadlines, while being focused on more than one project at a time.
Although desirable, previous P&L experience is not mandatory as training will be provided.
We require a strong academic background, including a good degree from a top UK or international University, and approx 10 years’ experience in a top-tier consulting or leading blue-chip firm. The candidate will have significant strategic sourcing experience and a demonstrated ability to think and act strategically.
The job may require a certain amount of travel.
