John Viney is Chairman of 4C Associates. John spent his early career with Philips, then in general consultancy and subsequently executive search. He has been in top level executive search for 25 years. For 17 years he was the European Chairman of Heidrick & Struggles responsible for the Board Practice and in 2002, he set up The Zygos Partnership with two other Founding Partners.

John is an investor in early stage businesses and is also a successful property developer and enjoys music and tennis.

He is the author of five books: One Man Band, Career Turnaround, The Culture Wars, Drive and, most recently, So You Dream of Being a Chief Executive.

Jon Bumstead (non-Executive Director)

Jon Bumstead (non-Executive Director)

Director of 4C Associates in 2005. In his capacity as Group Strategy Director at global supply chain management company, DHL, (formerly Exel) Jon was key in the development of the partnership between DHL and 4C Associates called 4CX as well as Exel/DHL's decision to invest in 4C.

Jon is a leader in the field of Supply Chain management. His roots in Manufacturing Engineering and Japanese lean production methods in the 1980s helped him shape the emerging Supply Chain disciplines of the 1990s as one of the leaders of Accenture's European supply chain practice. Whilst at Accenture, he worked across multiple industries, specialising in the retail and consumer goods sectors, and with clients such as Marks & Spencer, Wal-Mart, Shell, Guinness, The BOC Group and Ford, as well as helping to create the fourth party logistics (4PL) phenomenon of the mid 1990s.

Nicholas Smith (non-Executive Director)

Nic is a non-executive member of the 4C Associates board.

He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and has other non-executive directorships including AIM-listed Asian Citrus Holdings Ltd. and Plus Markets Group Plc and 4C.

Nic has held a number of senior investment banking roles. He was Director of Origination at Flemings in London, and prior to that, Group Finance Director and Co-head of Investment Banking of the Jardine Fleming Group in Hong Kong.

Edward Ainsworth (Executive Director)

Ed is one of the founders of 4C Associates, and an executive member of the Board. He is currently responsible for Operations across the Group.

Prior to 4C's foundation, Ed was a partner in the MercerDigital group of Mercer Management Consulting. He specialised in working with established companies and start-ups on their overall e-commerce strategy. His role included selling and directing large client engagements. He was a leader in the firm's San Francisco office and responsible for west coast sales and business development. His career has involved work in projects throughout Europe and Asia as well as the USA.

Peter Marson (Executive Director)

Peter is the other founder of 4C Associates and an executive member of the Board. He is now CEO of the 4CX division.

Prior to 4C's foundation Peter was a partner in the Strategic Capabilities Group of Mercer Management Consulting. He was responsible for selling and managing multi-million pound assignments, working closely with the CEOs and boards of the clients. In addition, he was responsible for the firm's European MBA recruitment. He worked across a range of industries, with a particular focus on manufacturing, technology and telecommunications.

Johan is an executive member of the board of 4C Associates and was recently appointed CEO of the Group following 2 years as CEO of the 4C Consulting team.

Prior to joining 4C, until 2002 Johan was the European Chief Operating Officer of Omnicom's media company in Europe - OMD. Before that in 1998/1999 he was General Manager of The Media Edge's worldwide media operations and sat on the worldwide agency board of Young & Rubicam. From 1992 to 1998 he was with CIA starting as UK Finance Director and finishing as European COO. Before working in media he trained with Price Waterhouse and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982.

Johan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
