FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Economist CFO Summit 2014: The Connected CFO

London, March 26th 2014

The leading procurement consultancy, 4C Associates, has again sponsored this year’s most anticipated Finance Directors’ Conference, The Economist CFO Summit 2014 – The Connected CFO

The Economist CFO Summit is one of Europe’s most recognised annual conferences designed especially for chief financial leaders and other leading figures from the world of finance. This year the Summit was attended by 120 delegates from a wide range of industries, the agenda focusing on the CFO’s role moving beyond its technical heritage into a role that is far more pivotal and more focused on growth.

This year 4C Associates participated the Summit as the Gold Sponsor, as well as the leading speaker of the ‘Big Data, Smart Forecasts’ session. Other summit speakers included Jim O’Neil, former Chief Economist at Goldman Sachs as well as speakers from, GE Healthcare, Paramount Pictures, Zurich North America and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Ed Ainsworth, managing director of 4C Associates talking about Big Data: “This is companywide transformation, not limited to either IT or marketing. The Big Data revolution presents a unique opportunity for all businesses and CFOs’ need to be at the heart of it. CFOs are best placed to be the overall coordinators for Big Data, and best placed to lead initiatives that will drive measurable profit improvement and impact profitability.”

Ed Ainsworth also shared his views and ideas as part of a panel which focused on the CFOs role as the main stakeholders in big data project analysis and delivery of benefits to the organization called ‘Big Data, Bigger Costs?’.

“The integration of Big Data brings new inputs and variables that can help anticipate the future, enabling rolling views of leading indicators rather than more traditional retrospective views.”, said Ed Ainsworth.

“More frequent inputs allow the enterprise to respond more quickly to change. While CMOs are using Big Data and analytics to better understand the individual customer, CFOs are utilising data to better understand the environment.”, added Ed Ainsworth
