4C Associates, the procurement solutions company, was awarded a position in the top three of the 2006 Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100.
The list contains the fastest growing private UK companies and ranks them by sales growth over the past three years.
In 2000 joint Chief Executives, Edward Ainsworth and Peter Marson founded 4C Associates as a consultancy that helped companies choose the best suppliers for services such as marketing, IT and human resources. Two years ago the company also began buying goods and services direct for clients. Teaming up with transport giant DHL in 2005, 4C now runs a buying and logistics division that, for example, oversees the purchasing and distribution of promotional items for BP. Its sales have rocketed 246% a year from £1.1m in 2003 to £46.2m in 2006.
“This is a fantastic achievement for the company and great for procurement as a whole. It recognises the significant growth in the industry and the maturing of the specialist procurement service sector. We are the first procurement company to be in the top three of the list” said Edward Ainsworth. Peter Marson added, “Our growth has been driven by us applying our specialist capabilities and technology to our customers enabling them to work with us to be world class procurement organisations.”
Staff numbers have grown with the company from a handful of individuals in 2000 to over 110 purchasing professionals in London, Manchester, Athens, Madrid, Dublin and Shanghai.
