BACKGROUND

A shared procurement service supporting multiple public sector organisations needed to prepare its procurement operations for the requirements of the Procurement Act 2023. The organisation aimed to improve efficiency, standardise ways of working, and enhance the service experience for stakeholders.

the challenge

  • Existing procurement processes were not fully aligned with the requirements of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Process documentation varied across teams, resulting in inconsistent ways of working.
  • There was a need to establish standardised procurement workflows to improve governance, compliance, and customer experience.

SOLUTION

  • Developed a suite of future-state procurement process maps designed to meet the requirements of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Worked collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure workflows were practical, compliant, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Created standardised documentation to support consistent procurement practices and clear process ownership.
  • Produced an implementation roadmap to support the transition to the new operating model.
